Almost 3 years ago I started a character that would forever change my life.
What started out as an unimportant character behind the curtains, I took great pride in her.
Until someone tore her apart. Broke my heart and placed me in tears.
Then I picked myself up and recreated her. Picked up the pieces from the underground. I learned what a mary sue was.
Ever since then, I think, sit, and plot my ideas, sometimes even hours on end.
A lot of hours, blood, sweat, and tears went into this character. And I hope it shows.
Even to this day, I crave critique and Black Sheep is still changing day by day, slowly reaching her finalized result.
I research and apply carefully.
Am I saying she deserves the title? No. Not by any means.
Black Sheep, described by others, is a tortured soul. Someone who is not like the other rogues in Gotham. She is symbolic in Crane's own personal life and a living manifestation of his own childhood torment. She represents free will and one's own personal inabilities, that sometimes no matter how hard we keep trying and trying, we stumble once more. Batman characters revolve around psychology.
NOT superhuman powers. And that's why Batman is so well noticed. Its normal people. (Well, mostly normal. You have a few abnormal, but hardly any are at superhuman status like Superman.)
Is she useful? Yes. She provides experimentation uses for Crane and even aids him despite her disagreement with him. She has extreme adrenaline rushes from experimentation allowing above average reaction times, and speed levels, including slightly increased strength.
Black Sheep is not...
Becky. Scream Queen. Or any of the other girls.
She is the unwilling villain, her own mental state her own prison.
I think that a true Mistress of Fear should be not a lover, not a successor, or a partner, but anyone who can handle Scarecrow's lifestyle and live. What relationship they have has nothing to do with it.
The character before you endures much of a perilous journey of torment and self discovery. She is not perfect and has human struggles, has personal problems, and lives life in a way that she creates on her own terms, whether she realizes it or not.
Black Sheep belongs to me.
ALSO APPARENTLY MY VERSION OF GOTHAM IS MORE HIPSTER THAN WHAT IT IS FOR SOME REASON??? SO THIS IS WHY I THOUGHT SHE'D BLEND IN???
I'VE SEEN VERSIONS OF GOTHAM LIKE THAT BEFORE SO...???
